Often referred to as the “Seamless for pizza,” Slice—formerly known as MyPizza—is an amazing company that partners with local pizza parlors to make home deliveries to customers. Those who care about quality pizza can get it more easily than ever, and, as a result, local businesses benefit. I couldn’t love this idea more. So when founder Ilir Sela and investor Kenny Herman got in touch needing help with the design of their New York office (about 50 of their 150 team members are based here), I jumped at the chance to help. I can’t say enough about the completed space—Ilir trusted me to do my thing, which is the best case scenario at the start of any design job—but I’ll let him speak for himself:

“I launched MyPizza to help friends and family in the pizza business. Ultimately, I wanted to unite all local pizzerias to compete with Big Pizza. When it came to the design of the office, the most important thing was to create a space that would help elevate the local pizza culture within our team, while also having it feel like home.

I have many favorite features of the finished space. I'd say the checkered floor in our pizza lounge really stands out, and so does the beautiful SLICE sign which hangs on the ‘storefront’. Speaking of which, the storefront feature in the middle of the space—which acts as our main conference room—is also a big hit!”

I love those checkered floors, too.

Thank you to Ilir for trusting my vision—and for opening my eyes to the wide world of NYC pizza! (His favorite slice, in case you’re wondering, is the classic cheese from Joe’s.) Learn more about Slice, here.  Pics to the website coming soon!
